Story Summary:
When Legolas meets Aragorn's most unique and
desirable former lover, can he tame her wild heart or will he destroy
her spirit by a simple miscalculation of judgement?
Detailed sex but not too much smut. Sweet smut?
Tolkien purists: Forewarning - Deviated so far from the books it isn't
funny! And LACE? Never heard of it before I wrote this story.
Obviously, neither had Vanelossë or Legolas!
This story
was written a long time ago and posted before I discovered betas so
please forgive the mistakes. I have too many WIPs now to rewrite it.
Chapter 4
The Goodnight Kiss
After they were finished eating Arwen, Aragorn, and Elrond went into
the library. The twins, Vanelossë, and Legolas stayed at the table. She
had begun to drink a little too much and she knew when she drank, she
usually said too much. She had to make sure she avoided Arwen and Lord
Elrond for the rest of the night.
“So Van, did you enjoy your swim?” Elrohir asked.
Giggling, she said, “Yes I did, did you enjoy the view?”
Legolas laughed at the twin’s expressions of guilt. With a tilt of her
head, she looked at him boldly and asked “And did you, as well?”
Not knowing exactly what to say, he shut his mouth. She laughed at his
expression and then winked at him. Changing the subject, she poured
another glass of wine as she asked one of the twins if he had talked to
someone that Legolas didn’t know. He found himself looking at her more
and more. Every once in awhile, she would look over at him with
sparkling green, gem-like eyes and smile. As the night wore on, Lord
Elrond excused himself for the night, as did Arwen and Aragorn. Before
she left, Arwen whispered in Vanelossë’s ear to behave. Eventually even
the twins left because they had too much wine as well. Once they were
alone, she turned to look at him and smiled.
“So, since we are alone now. You can answer my question.”
”Which question would that be?” He smiled.
“The one about you being elusive.”
“Oh yes. That one. I do not know how to answer that exactly. What is your definition of elusive?” He asked.
“Difficult to catch but much sought after.”
“You make me sound like a fish.” He laughed. She tried to remain
serious but then she began to laugh as well. She had a wonderful laugh
that made him sad to hear it end.
“So who has been telling you all of these stories about me?” He asked her seriously.
“All of the ellith in both Imladris and Lothlorien talk about you. They say you are a very good match. Now I see why.”
“And why would that be?”
Giggling, she said, “I have drunk way too much wine to answer that question. I might embarrass myself”
“I doubt you embarrass easily. So is it true what they say about you?”
Trying to look innocent but failing miserably, she asked “And what would that be?”
“That you are a wild child and a trouble maker.”
She laughed once again. “I do not know how I have such a bad
reputation.” Standing up, she realized how much wine she had actually
drunk as the room began to move around her. Sitting back down quickly,
she looked over at him with an amused expression.
“Would you be so kind as to walk me home? Otherwise, I fear Lord Elrond
would be very upset in the morning finding me sleeping on his dining
room floor.”
Smiling at her predicament, he got up and walked around the table.
Helping her up, she stood up and was just a few inches from him. They
paused and she reached out and softly pulled one of his braids from
behind his ear. While she was holding it, she was looking at him
intently and he was unable to break his gaze. Leaning slightly forward,
she brushed his lips with her own very softly. Unable to stop himself,
he pulled her a little closer and kissed her back with a deeper kiss.
When they pulled apart, she was still holding onto his braid but she
was no longer smiling.
“That was some kiss.” She whispered. “Can I have another?”
Pulling him to her, she kissed him again and lightly tugged on his lip
with her teeth. When she pulled away, she was breathing a little heavy
and she felt flushed. She was not sure if it was the wine or him but
she felt like a nervous innocent with him.
“Let me walk you home before we do something we will regret later.” He
said putting his arm around her small waist and she followed him.
Half way up the path to her house, she felt like the world was spinning again and she stopped to ground herself.
“Are you all right?”
“Yes. I just feel like I am spinning around in circles and I am no longer sure which way is up.” She whispered back to him.
“I do not want you to pass out.”
He reached down and scooped her up into his arms and started carrying
her. When they got to her house, he carried her inside and placed her
gently on the bed.
“You should sleep and you will feel better in the morning”
As he was turning, she said his name softly.
Sitting up, she said “Do I not get a goodnight kiss?”
He knew he should not but she looked so beautiful and sweet, nothing
like the forward seductress he had seen earlier. Leaning over, he
placed his hand on her face as he kissed her lightly. When she began
kissing him back gently, he allowed her to deepen the kiss as her
tongue gently explored his mouth. She felt like the world was
completely spinning and it had nothing to do with the wine. She had
never felt this way before when any man had kissed her. Usually, she
was bold and took what she wanted from her lovers but he made her
forget how to be bold or even think for that matter. And she was
reluctant to take what she wanted from him for fear it would destroy
this warm bubble of fantasy around them. She moaned softly as she felt
his tongue in her mouth. When the kiss ended, she opened her eyes and
realized he was as surprised as she was.
“I probably need to leave now.” He said reluctantly. “I will see you tomorrow. Go to sleep, Vanelossë.”
“Legolas. Will you met me tomorrow at the falls, before it gets too hot and the twins are down there?” She asked quietly.
He hesitated for a just a minute and said that he would.
Leaving quickly before he could not leave at all, he walked out her
door and closed it behind him. He had to steady himself before he began
the walk back to where he and Aragorn were staying. When he came in, he
was glad that Aragorn was not there yet. He went to his chambers,
stripped off his boots and his shirt, and lay down sighing trying to
calm his nerves and aroused body. There was something about that
elleth. At first he thought she was just a brazen tease but after that
first kiss, it was like she transformed from a cat on the prowl into a
kitten you wanted to hold and cuddle.
He heard Aragorn come in and heard the knock on his door. Sitting up,
he told his friend to come in. Smiling, Aragorn started to say
something about the bet and when he looked at his face, he thought
better of it. Legolas stood up and walking over to the other side of
the room got the bow and handed it to him as he walked away. Aragorn
was shocked. He saw the tension in Legolas’ shoulders and realized this
was not a man who spent a night in anyone’s bed much less hers.
“Legolas. What is it?”
“I do not want to make a bet on her. Whether I could resist her or not,
I do not want a bet driving my decision or my actions. Maybe she is
this trouble maker and I am a marked man or whatever and she is devious
enough to fool me about her true self. Just now I saw a different side
to her and that is the one that interests me most.” He said sitting on
the bed.
Laying the bow on his bed, Aragorn smiled “My friend. I have never seen
you like this. You need to follow your heart and see where it leads.
What do I know about her? It has been ages since I last saw her. And
the twins have been infatuated with her for centuries so their word
cannot be trusted. So you keep your bow and we forget about the bet.”
When Legolas nodded, Aragorn left him alone. Lying down, Legolas struggled to fall asleep, thinking of her.
