Story Summary:
When Legolas meets Aragorn's most unique and
desirable former lover, can he tame her wild heart or will he destroy
her spirit by a simple miscalculation of judgement?
Detailed sex but not too much smut. Sweet smut?
Tolkien purists: Forewarning - Deviated so far from the books it isn't
funny! And LACE? Never heard of it before I wrote this story.
Obviously, neither had Vanelossë or Legolas!
This story
was written a long time ago and posted before I discovered betas so
please forgive the mistakes. I have too many WIPs now to rewrite it.
Chapter Two
A Marked Man
Vanelossë was admiring the men but was particularly watching Legolas.
She had grown up with Elrohir and Elladan and while they had their fair
share of women that wanted them, due in part to their good looks with
long dark hair and gray eyes, but they did not hold her interest very
long. Estel was still exciting to watch but knowing he loved Arwen and
she loved him, she didn’t see the point of even thinking about him.
A little part of her was still a little irritated by the fact that he
had fallen so hard for Arwen not long after Vanelossë had seduced him.
He was not even twenty years old at the time but she was very curious
about him because he was not an elf but a man. She had heard things
about men and their brutish lovemaking and she had to find out if it
were true. She was his first lover and she pleasantly surprised that
after he got over his nervousness the first couple of times, he had
turned into quite a lover.
Vanelossë found him not to be brutish but very animalistic in his
passion. She was not sure if it was because he was a mortal man or
because he was still so young. Either way, she didn’t complain. In
fact, she almost would bet that he had just left her bed when he met
Lady Arwen which was a big blow to her pride and one that she had never
quite gotten over with. She loved Arwen and they had grown up together
as well but to have a man fall out of her bed into Arwen’s arms was
enough to make her want to throttle her friend. But deciding that no
man was worth fighting over, she came to the decision to never tell
anyone of her relationship with Estel especially Arwen. As far as she
knew only her, Estel, and the twins knew to this day.
But since Arwen was otherwise occupied with Estel, she was free to
pursue Legolas at her own leisure. She was not one to pursue men as
most men pursued her but she might be willing to pursue this one. If
she had to, but first she wanted to make sure she even had to. Maybe
she had intrigued him enough to have him pursue her. But she doubted it
because she had heard how elusive he was. He was as beautiful as any
man she had seen. His long golden hair with braids holding it away from
his face allowed her to focus more on his blue eyes and perfect face.
Never had she seen a man that had the ability to look noble, strong,
and warrior-like while at the same time sweet and innocent looking. The
sun was illuminating him to give him an aura of unnatural pureness. He
gave her a thrill just looking at him.
Vanelossë was a free spirit but she was also very picky about her
lovers. Since Estel, there had only been a few including a brief and
disappointing affair with a Lothlorien elf. They were fine but nothing
quite as passionate as what she had with Estel.
When Vanelossë's father left to go to the undying lands two years
before her affair with Estel, he asked Lord Elrond to watch out for
her. Elrond was used to the more proper elf like Arwen. He had no idea
what to do with her. She had always been a wild child. Her father gave
in to her every whim and indulged her completely so she grew up to
expect men to give her what she wanted. And to this point she always
would win over a man no matter what it was she was trying to win. Even
Lord Elrond had given up saying no to her knowing it was easier to give
in to her wishes than argue with her. He had been through enough
arguments with her to realize there was no winning with Vanelossë.
Legolas might just provide her the challenge she needed. And if Estel
watched her enjoying the company of another man, he might realize what
he was missing, which might sooth her ruffled feathers about his
relationship with Arwen.
While Vanelossë was pondering her next steps, Legolas looked back
quietly to make sure that she was out of earshot. Walking closer to
Aragorn, he nodded back in her direction.
“So who is she?”
With a deep sigh, Aragorn said “I was honest when I told you she was trouble.”
Elrohir and Elladan had walked up and overhearing his comment, they both laughed.
“And judging by the way she was looking at you, my friend, you appear
to be a marked man.” Elrohir laughed slapping Legolas on the back.
Legolas looked at him and seeing the other three smiling, he asked him what he meant.
“You see Vanelossë has this thing about challenges. The more difficult
the chase, the more she enjoys the capture. With men as well as with
anything she sets her sights on.” Elladan explained. “She is not your
typical elleth. She is more like a cat. She hunts and captures and then
enjoys the reward.”
“So what you are saying is she is easy.” Legolas said disappointed.
“No, you misunderstand. There is nothing easy about her. She is
selective about her lovers and has had very few to my knowledge.
Unfortunately, I have not been one of them although I still have hope.”
Elladan smiled. “Not all of us are as lucky as Estel.”
Legolas looked at Aragorn as he glared at Elladan. “That was to remain
between brothers. That is not something I would like to get back to
Arwen no matter how long ago it was. Who else have you told?”
“No one, of course. I would not do anything to hurt my sister. But I
knew that Legolas was one of your closest friends and could be
trusted.” Elladan explained.
“So she was your lover?” Legolas asked.
“Long ago. I was almost twenty and it was before I met Arwen. I think I
was more to satisfy Vanelossë’s curiosity of mortal men.” Aragorn
explained. “And I was young and willing to allow her to satisfy her
curiosity with me. “
“It was a tough job but Estel was willing to do it.” Elrohir smiled.
Aragorn said at the memories that even now made him smile. “She was my first.”
“Yes and I think it hurt her pride a bit that that you fell in love so
quick with Arwen. She had just left for Lothlorien and you had already
met someone else. Then a few years later, I think that she was
basically encouraged to come back to Rivendell because Lady Galadriel
grew tired of the turmoil she caused with the men there. My father has
basically stopped fighting it and allowed her to have her way on most
things. Arwen has tried to talk to her and every time Vanelossë
promises to be good. I think she has been indulged for so long she
doesn’t even know when she misbehaves. It has always been easier to
give into her wishes rather than try to bend her will.” Elrohir said.
“She sounds intriguing but I am not a marked man. I do not need the
extra aggravation of a troublemaker in my life. No matter how pretty.”
Legolas said.
The three others chuckled. Elrohir and Elladan shook their heads while Aragorn tried to explain.
“Legolas, whether you need the extra aggravation in your life, you are
a marked man because the more you resist, the more she will want you.
It is useless to fight her. Perhaps if you gave up now, she would lose
interest in you but I bet you anything, if you resist, you will lose.”
“So you would not resist her?” Legolas raised an eyebrow.
Aragorn smiled. “She would never try to seduce me again because she
adores Arwen. But there was a time where I could not resist her though
I did not try very hard. But you cannot hide behind Arwen, so you will
not be able to resist her if you are her true desire.”
Elladan, ever the mischief maker, said, “Did I hear a bet brought up?”
Elrohir looked at him in shock. “Elladan, you cannot be serious.”
Laughing Elladan said, “Elrohir, if it was Vanelossë standing here, she would insist on a bet.”
“He has a point. So what exactly are we betting on? I will not bet on
Legolas getting her into bed because that would be wrong and unfair to
her. However, I would be willing to bet that if she is interested in
him, he will not be able to resist her. And by resisting her, I mean,
you do not make love to her.” Aragorn said looking at Legolas amused.
Legolas appeared to think about it. Looking at both the twins then
Aragorn, he finally said, “And what are the terms of this bet?”
Aragorn smiled “I do like that new bow of yours. What do I have that you would want?”
“Oh, I would do it merely for the satisfaction of proving you wrong.”
Legolas joked boldly. “So how do we make sure that both of us play
fair? Because I do not mean to impugn your reputation Aragorn but it
needs to be fair. Plus, if there is a chance of her getting hurt in the
situation or us getting caught, there needs to be someone there to make
sure that we drop the matter beforehand.”
Elrohir shook his head and said, “We will do it. I want to make sure
that Vanelossë’ heart does not truly get broken although I do not think
that is a big concern because she rarely puts her heart out on the
line. While I think Vanelossë is a troublemaker, I do not want either
of you to hurt her. And, if she ever finds out, she will probably kill
us all. So just so I am clear, she is allowed to do whatever she wants
with Legolas except if they end up making love, he loses. So a kiss or
something does not count, correct?”
“Of course not, we cannot take the fun out of this. The more enticement
she gives him the more likely he is to cave in and we all prove him
right.” Elladan laughed.
“Agreed.” Elrohir said.
The four men shook on it. Aragorn could already feel the bow in his
hands. He knew very well how hard it was to resist Vanelossë and if it
were not for Arwen, he probably would not be able to even now nor would
he want to. While he had never been in love with her, memories of their
intense coupling had kept him warm many nights. Elrohir and Elladan had
been trying to win her affections for centuries so therefore she was
not interested in them. She had only been interested in him at first
because he was not an elf. He was young and did not care what her
reasons were. He just wanted to be in her bed. The fact that Elrohir
and Elladan had long desired her made her even more desirable to him.
Once he met Arwen though, he never seen Vanelossë again but he did have
very fond memories of those nights of passion.
“Are you four going to stand there for the rest of the day or is it my
turn yet?” Turning they all saw Vanelossë standing there looking at
them expectantly.
Feeling guilty about their little bet, they all quickly got out of the
water, gathered their belongings and throwing on their shirts, they
excused themselves.
